Fareez Azuan

Dr. Fareez Azuan has been passionate about fashion and textiles since the age of 18, with a strong focus on sustainability in his work. In 2016, he pursued further education in fashion and textile technologies, completing a master’s thesis on sustainable materials for decorative clothing embellishments. His dedication to ethical and innovative design has led him to participate in prestigious Malaysian fashion and textile competitions, including Piala Seri Endon, Malaysian Songket, and Kuala Lumpur Designer Search. Through his work, he continues to push creative boundaries, championing sustainability while contributing to the evolution of Malaysia’s fashion industry.

Shuk Fui6

Born and raised in Sabah, Lo Shuk Fui has called Kuala Lumpur home since 1997, with four inspiring years spent living in Shanghai. A dedicated knitter and crocheter, she has been nurturing a community of yarn enthusiasts through her cozy studio, which she established in 2016. Offering regular classes and carefully curated tools and materials, she shares her passion for fiber arts with others, creating a welcoming space for learning and creativity. Her commitment to craftsmanship and teaching has made her studio a go-to destination for those eager to explore knitting and crochet while appreciating the beauty of handmade textiles.

Yong Bahari

An accounting graduate with a strong analytical mindset and expertise in financial principles, she brings a fresh perspective to the fashion industry. Though her academic background is in finance, her true passion lies in fashion and sustainable living, particularly in promoting eco-friendly practices and ethical production. She seeks to bridge the gap between finance and sustainable fashion, using her skills to support businesses committed to environmental and social responsibility. With a creative eye and a dedication to innovation, she aims to shape the industry’s future by merging modern design with cultural craftsmanship, preserving heritage while redefining fashion.

Enah Samad

Best known as Enah Samad, she is a self-taught artist based in Kuala Lumpur who turned her lifelong passion for art and craft into a career in 2016. Enah’s creative journey began at a young age and has since evolved into a distinctive practice that celebrates the beauty of nature. She creates unique artworks on fabric using real leaves and flowers as molds, harnessing the power of sunlight to produce captivating natural patterns. Each piece of fabric is then transformed by her own hands into wearable art—ranging from hats and bags to garments and accessories.

Alam Alif

Alif Abdul Halim is a textile designer and independent Batik artist who founded Lestari Ikat Batik in 2016. Originally from Mersing, Johor, he moved to Puncak Alam, Selangor, to expand his business. He pursued a Batik Craft Art Diploma at the National Craft Institute in Rawang, followed by a Degree in Textile Design Art at MARA Technology University, Shah Alam. Specializing in Canting and Tie-Dye batik, he experiments with modern techniques and natural dyes to create innovative designs. His ambition is to bring Malaysian Batik to the international stage, merging sustainability and heritage to redefine contemporary fashion while preserving tradition.

Erin Zamree Atelier

Erin Zamree is a dedicated fashion design lecturer who nurtures creativity in students through courses in fashion drawing, illustration, garment making, textiles, and fashion software. With a strong passion for sustainability, her artistic practice focuses on upcycled fashion, where she repurposes existing materials to create innovative designs. By blending digital artistry with eco-conscious techniques, she pushes the boundaries of traditional fashion, inspiring students to explore new perspectives. Her commitment to education and sustainability allows her to shape the next generation of designers, equipping them with the skills to merge creativity with ethical fashion practices in an evolving industry.

 

Ling By Irene (2nd Waves)

Born and raised in Kluang, Johor, Irene is a passionate fashion enthusiast who discovered her love for style during high school. An alumna of MFCA 2023, she holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Fashion Design and has gained hands-on industry experience through a three-month internship as an assistant stylist and two years as a retail associate at Uniqlo Singapore. With a strong foundation in fashion and retail, she is eager to explore new opportunities, refine her creative vision, and contribute to the evolving fashion landscape. She is excited to see where her dedication and artistry will take her next.

Zulhairi (2nd Wave)

Muhammad Zulhairi is an alumni of MFCA 2023. He is a seamstress and fashion designer with a unique artistic flair. With a deep appreciation for culture, place, and personal expression, his work bridges the traditional and the modern. He has hands-on experience in crafting garments that reflect both heritage and innovation, including custom-made Malay traditional bridal wear and contemporary fashion pieces. Zulhairi’s brand, ZULHAIRI, is a fresh and inclusive label that caters to a wide audience—designing clothing that resonates with people of all ages. His signature style reflects creativity, versatility, and a deep respect for the art of garment-making.
